Personal Profile  

I’m a focused individual who always looks to achieve the best results from any given brief and budget. I believe that any project can be delivered well (in budget, on time and to the relevant quality) with the right planning, communication, motivation and desire from the team delivering it. My creative background has left me with high expectations in terms of thought process and production standards and my technical and business experience ensures

I always keep the interests of the project and client in mind.I have worked in the digital industry for over 11 years. During this time I have worked for a mixture of clients including but not limited to Volkswagen, City Index, SGAM, Deloitte, BP, Barclays Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, Auto Glass, The Guardian newspaper, Star Alliance, The Sportsman newspaper and BAE systems.

I’m currently a Project Director for Tribal DDB running all of Volkswagen’s UK digital advertising and websites. I run a team of 7-10 Project Managers delivering multiple projects including some award winning campaigns such as Passat Midlife Crisis. The key project over the last year has been the re-launch of the new Volkswagen UK website which launched in Feb 2008 with a budget of £4.5m.

Online adverting campaign and offer registration micro site for a free round of golf on one of 180 golf courses world wide
The Guardian newspaper Several online campaigns £5-10k Several fast turnaround banner campaigns for the Guardian’s self promotion.
The Sportsman Newspaper Website build £800k Complex betting and live editorial website, CMS and front end development. The site incorporated live racing, betting and results data and integrated with the newspapers publishing process to allow full integration with the 120 writers copy.

Roles and responsibilities: Overseeing all digital work for Volkswagen UK including digital advertising, micro sites and development of www.volkswagen.co.uk. I lead a team of 7 permanent and up to 3 freelance project managers delivering both small and large projects and full website maintenance.

Roles and responsibilities: At The Sportsman I was responsible for all digital project management and delivery. Working directly with senior management and suppliers to ensure the original website and further development was delivered successfully. Using my design and technical knowledge helped avoid 3rd party conflicts and technical issues arising. The following are a few of the key roles that I had:

• Project management of the initial website build including dealing with 16 3rd party suppliers

• Design and develop functional specification for initial build and new features

Position: Senior Project manager
Roles and responsibilities: Upon joining Ratio One it was my responsibility to review current practices and put in place a full and workable project management methodology that would work for both highly complex technical projects whilst allowing creativity to be incorporated on more design lead projects. Background: Over the last few years I have worked on a few freelance projects in my spare time. These usually come from personal contacts who I have previously worked with. Most of these projects are website but I was also commissioned for a series of 3D illustrations for Lucas Film. In all cases I worked directly with the client from initial discussions though to delivering the finished product.

Interests  

Having three small children takes up most of my spare time. However I have been a keen rock climber for the last 11 years. This sport incorporates, problems solving, team work, and a high level of fitness. I’m currently training at least twice a week and try to get outdoors as often as possible to crags in the UK, France and Spain. My other interests include snowboarding and football.
